This distance learning program was developed by Kris Kaull and Jeri Pullum of the Critical Illness and Trauma Foundation. The CIT Foundation would like to thank Jack Dunn, Nick Waite and Victoria Cleary for their support and assistance.   The combined efforts of the Critical Illness & Trauma Foundation and the START developers have enabled rural EMS providers the opportunity to develop and train to national standards.

The Simple Triage and Rapid Treatment (START) system was developed by  Hoag Hospital and the Newport Beach Fire Department (Newport Beach, CA), which graciously granted permission for the use of their materials in this training program.
